Maryland Championship Wrestling Introduces On-Demand Television Platform

Maryland Championship Wrestling, an independent group that runs shows throughout Maryland, Delaware, and Pennsylvania, issued a press release today via their Facebook page announcing the beginning of an on-demand subscription television service that will allow fans to view their product on a PC, iOS/Android device, Apple TV and much more.

MCW is the federation that WWE Tough Enough competitor/signee Patrick Clark came from.  The federation also utilizes local talent combined with big names such as Ric Flair, Mickie James, Mick Foley, Jake Roberts, and others on their shows.  From all that I have heard (I have never been able to get to one of their events), MCW puts on a good show so your money would not likely be wasted in terms of content on this new platform.

Ring of Honor “Survival of the Fittest 2015” Night One Results

Match #2: Roderick Strong def. Cedric Alexander in a Survival of the Fittest Qualifier.

Match #3: Silas Young (w/Beer City Bruiser) def. Dalton Castle in a Survival of the Fittest Qualifier.  Bruiser interfered to give Young the win.

Last night, Maryland Championship Wrestling presented another event in their “Autumn Armageddon” Tour.  The show took place at the Unique Sports Academy in Waldorf, MD.  Courtesy the MCW Facebook page, here are the results from last night’s show.

Review: Ashes: A Firefighter’s Tale

ASHESMatt always had an easygoing life. Girls liked him, his friends were more like family, and being a firefighter came naturally. Then the accident happened. Now, after the loss of his leg, Matt struggles to cope with his new handicap as he attempts to rebuild his shattered family and once budding career.

Written by Mario Candelaria with art by Karl Slominski, Ashes: A Firefighter’s Tale is a Kickstarter success (one which I backed) and has been released by Z2 Comics this week. The story focuses on a firefighter who after an accident has to persevere.

The comic has a lot of potential, and is not a bad read as an independent/small press Kickstarted graphic novel. But, for me the small issues added up.

The story is good, and touching at times. I’m not a firefighter (and don’t know any) so I can’t say how close to reality Candelaria’s story…

Final Fantasy Explorers Collector’s Edition Can Now Be Pre-Ordered On Square Enix’s Online Store

Final Fantasy Explorers Collector’s Edition is now available to pre-order via the Square Enix online store after it got an official release date during Thursday’s Nintendo Direct.

The Collector’s Edition comes in special packaging and includes the 3DS game, an art-book, a 20 track music sampler, and a collectors hard case. On top of all the physical items you get in the Collector’s Edition, it will also allow you to unlock special weapons within the game such as the Crimson Blitz, Venus Gospel, Death Penalty and the Thyrus.

It’s £59.99 for Europe and $69.99 for North America. For Europe, you can click here to pre-order, and for North America you can follow this link. The pre-orders for this edition are exclusive to the Square Enix online store.
