Analytics Firm Expects Wii U To Fall Short Of 20 Million Global Units By 2019

My Nintendo News

Market intelligence firm Strategy Analytics has put together its latest report detailing the sales of current generation consoles. Strategy Analytics expects Sony’s PlayStation 4 to be in the lead selling around 80 million units by 2019. The firm also expects Microsoft’s Xbox One to sell around 57 million units. The news isn’t so good for the Wii U which Strategy Analytic expects to reach around 20 million global units by 2019.

Nintendo’s Wii U will trail a long way behind its rivals – it is looking more and more like Nintendo struck lucky with the original Wii, after failing with the GameCube and now the Wii U. Nintendo must decide if it is going to let the console business remain a two-way battle when the next generation comes along – I suspect it won’t but it will be sorely hurt by its latest experience.

Anime From Days of Yor: Metropolis

Stuck in the Wired

How to begin about Rintaro’s Metropolis? The film is based on Osamu Tezuka’s 1949 manga of the same name, which was in turn inspired by a still frame from Fritz Lang’s 1927 film. The plot of the anime/manga are different from Lang’s film, with only some visual inspiration and basic idea’s being carried over.

Rintaro’s film concerns itself with a Japanese detective and his assistant, the half Japanese Ken-Ichi, travelling to Metropolis in search of a criminal wanted on multiple charges. It just so happens that he’s working with the wealthy Duke Red to construct a robot replacement for his dead daughter, and use her to power a super weapon. There’s a hitch in his plan, though, the single minded, robot killing Rock, his adopted son of sorts, is hell bent on not allowing a robot to “succeed him” in status within the city.

A Resolution to The Last Will and Testament of Charles Xavier

Mah Muse Comics

So the Last Will and Testament of Charles Xavier finally came to an end. Last year after issue #23 I wrote:

This is the much anticipated Last Will and Testament arc that Brian Michael Bendis has promised will change the X-landscape forever. This is a promise that has been often thrown around, but nothing Bendis has done so far suggests hyperbole, and with the tantalizing promise of Xavier’s last word on things, this was too much not to miss.

Did this arc, 8 issues in the telling, deliver? Without further ado, lets dive in, Pro/Con style.Click Below for the review
