An Education on Womens Wrestling with Jen (PocketVolcano)

Often times an under-valued part of the pro wrestling spectrum, women’s wrestlers may not get the kudos they deserve. But as all-women companies like Shimmer Women Athletes continue setting standards for female wrestlers, “Girl power” is the name of the game in 2013.

A follower of the SHIMMER product and the women’s wrestling scene in general since 2010, Jen displays an infectious passion for the art form. From going on solo road trips to catch SHIMMER shows, to road tripping with other wrestlers, to forming real connections with some of her favorite entertainers, Jen’s love of the spectacle cannot be understated.

On this special show, she shares some of her favorite moments from her wrestling fandom, thoughts on the evolution of women’s wrestling over the last decade, the negative stigma some attach to the genre, and so much more. Plus, Jen hasn’t missed a SHIMMER taping since…

Activision has decided to release the launch trailer for their next installment in the Call Of Duty series two weeks early. The trailer shows off some luscious forest and underwater environments and even the depths of space and how could I forget to mention all the explosions that happen in the trailer. I wonder how many people are sold on the game after seeing this trailer are sold on the game. The game is set to come out  on the Wii U, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on November 5 as well as next-gen console when they launch later this year.

Pushup Bra for Men Turns Man Boobs into Power Pecs

Good news for males who still enjoy tight-fitted t-shirts. A new “muscle-enhancing” top by U.K.-based gives men who haven’t peaked in the pectorals a chance to fit in with all the other fist-pumping brawny folk.

The padded undershirt effectively serves as the answer to a woman’s padded bra, acting as a “confidence booster” for men everywhere. The shirt, which costs about $48, is available in black, white and grey.  The top is meant to compress unsightly man boobs and reshape them into a more muscular-looking build.

It’s not the first of its kind. Male underwear padded for that extra cushion in the derrière is also a thing that men apparently buy to improve their look.

The shirt may improve the look of muscles, but typically those who are concerned about that are actually at the gym pumping iron and getting ripped. We doubt it’ll make much of a splash among the…

EA Sports UFC To Feature Female Fighters

Jessica Eye takes leap in her career

Stover's Squared Circle

In the span of one night, Jessica “Evil” Eye went from being the No. 1 women’s 125-pound fighter, to a top 10 women’s 135-pound fighter.

Eye made her UFC debut against former Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight champion Sarah Kaufman, who was also stepping into the octagon for the first time in her career.

The fight itself was a classic battle-torn veteran against a rising star. Both fighters looked great in their stand up and gave the fans one heck of a show.

Despite Kaufman landing more strikes and dominating the clinch, Eye’s quick strikes and damage, earned her the split-decision. Whether or not fans believed Eye won the fight, there is no question that she belongs in the UFC.

With this win over Kaufman, Eye has to at least move into the top 10 rankings. Not only is Kaufman one of the most dangerous fighters in the women’s 135-pound weight class…

A Ruff Look at Wrestling-Shine 2

Ruff's Ramblings

I had the chance to spend an evening watching Shine 2. I know this is not Earth-shattering, topical or timely. But a lot of you out there probably work your 40+ hours and come home to a busy family going non-stop on weekends and weeknights. We can’t give of our time as much or as soon as we would like to. This is my reflection of my experience while watching Shine 2. If you want a play-by-play, I’m sure there is one out there. This is my stream-of-consciousness recap.

We open up the night with Leva Bates looking spot-on like Jack Sparrow. So uncanny, my 4 year-old (the girl who calls all wrestling “SHIMMER,” regardless of gender or promotion) was once watching this with me and said, “Look, Daddy, it’s a pirate.” We follow with a promo montage: Mercedes Martinez then Jessicka Havok. I love this format. Give me a…
