MGM, the same studio that worked no the Hobbit and James Bond films, have teamed up with GK Films to develop the reboot of Tomb Raider’s next big screen performance. The team-up was announced on Wednesday.

GK Films’ Graham King will be producing the film which is said to be taking a few cues from the latest video game reboot of the series. Its been reported that the movie will be developed with game developer Crystal Dynamics having a say in how the story takes plays out.

There has been no word on casting for any role in the movie but filming is expected to start straight away.

Its going to be interesting to see how the movie plays out but if its anything like the story line from the latest game it shouldn’t be too bad. Tomb Raider (the game) has been receiving plenty of praise for its deep storyline…

Pro Wrestling Phoenix returns on Friday night March 29th with YEAR OF THE PHOENIX VIII!

The primary focus on that evening will be crowning a brand new PWP Heavyweight Champion!

We will have 4 qualifying matches, which will be:

* Branden Juarez vs. Abu Colossus
* Shawn Nautilus vs. Derek Cornell

* Preston Maxwell vs. Matty Star

The winners of those matches will advance to a main event Elimination 4 Way, and the last man standing will take home the vacant PWP Heavyweight Championship!

One of the biggest rivalries in PWP last year was between Darren ”Thunder” Russell and Vic Victory, that rivalry has yet to be resolved. The issue also extended to include ”Cheap & Dirty” member Zac James, as an apparent ally of Victory’s – as well as Chris Havius backing up his good friend Russell. At our last event, Victory (with…

Kassius Ohno

Ring Posts

Kassius Ohno (4)

Despite being labelled a rookie by WWE as part of NXT, Kassius Ohno is anything but that. If anything he is a veteran as he made his wrestling debut nearly 15 years ago.

Under the name Chris Hero he made quite a name for himself on the independent circuit wrestling for IWA Mid-South, Chikara and Ring Of Honor. During this time he competed against, and alongside the likes of CM Punk, Sabu, Colt Cabana and Antonio Cesaro.

It was when he tagged with the latter that he had the most success as they captured multiple tag team title belts in different organisations. In 2010 they awarded Tag Team of the Year by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

Given all these accolades, I was surprised that they didn’t have the two continue to do so when they both joined the WWE. Especially considering how much Triple H supposedly wants to, or wanted…

UFC stays neutral in Nick Diaz vs. Georges St-Pierre weigh-in fiasco

National Post | Sports

TORONTO — The UFC is playing the role of Switzerland when it comes to Nick Diaz’s allegations of improprieties surrounding the UFC 158 weigh-in and drug testing.

[np_storybar title=”Quebec athletic commission denies Georges St-Pierre weigh-in controversy after video surfaces” link=”http://sports.nationalpost.com/2013/03/26/nick-diazs-camp-says-georges-st-pierre-was-overweight-for-bout-at-ufc-158/”]
[/np_storybar]

The California welterweight lost a five-round decision to champion Georges St-Pierre on March 16 at Montreal’s Bell Centre. He has since complained that Quebec athletic commission (Regie des Alcools des Courses et des Jeux) mishandled its weigh-in and drug testing responsibilities.

And Diaz has asked for a rematch or for St-Pierre to “vacate the belt in favour of those prepared to fight at welterweight.”

The UFC offered a generic statement in response.

“We are aware of Mr. Diaz’s complaint to the Quebec Athletic Commission,” the UFC said in the statement. “We adhere to the policies set forth by respective athletic commissions worldwide.”

The UFC provided the statement in lieu…
